Official Biography…

“SCIMITAR are a Thrash Metal band from Belfast, Northern Ireland. We formed as a 2 piece writing some songs for around 6 months and then decided to make it full circle. We then recruited a Bassist & Vocalist to help write some more music, and take things to the next level.

We continued to write music for about a year before playing our first gig in June 2012. Since then fans reaction and support has been beyond overwhelming, with a crazy circle pit at our first show (with people fighting each other with plastic Scimitar swords) in The Warzone Centre in Belfast city centre.

Since then we have played some great support slots with some of the finest talent in Belfast and across the waters, which include : EXHUMED, MONARCH!, HATRED, PUTREFY, RED SIX, RATS BLOOD, WAR IRON, RABID BITCH OF THE NORTH plus many more.

After building a very strong fan base in our home town we decided it was time to get a release out. We recorded a 6 track E.P, recorded by the amazing Niall Doran at Start Together Studios in Belfast titled “The Act of War”. We can guarantee it will break your neck!

SCIMITAR went on to record a 3 Track E.P “Plague In The Vatican“, recorded and mixed by Guitarist John Thompson, released 31st October 2014 and since the release we have been playing Belfast area & Dublin shows to promote the E.P. and are currently writing and working on our first feature length album.”
