Ogre Death Metal / Co. Dublin

FROST were a 5-piece Death Metal band from Dublin in the late 80s. There were some demo recordings made which are available here but the line-up didn’t last ling and three of the members went on to form Doom/Death Metal band OGRE.

OGRE were a Brutal Death Metal band from Dublin who formed in 1989. They arose from the ashes of and earlier Death Metal band called FROST.

Quite an interesting band with a unique and twisted mindset all of their own. Check out their website to see what kind of madness afflicted this bunch. Playing everything from harsh grinding parts, to death metal, to sludgy rocking doom in moments, with well placed samples and some absolutely vicious vocals.

They released two demos, ‘Sanatas (Axe Of Contrition)’ in 1993 and ‘Haitus’ in 1994. And an album in 1994 called ‘Dark Filth’. Then the band went on sabbatical and disappeared. But the story doesn’t end there. Rumblings have been felt emanating from deep under our nations capital and the mighty OGRE returned in 2014 with their new ‘Bastards Of Death’ album being spewed forth.
