The Mysterious Deadbeats Hardcore / Co. Fermanagh

THE MYSTERIOUS DEADBEATS hailed from Enniskillen, Co.Fermanagh in Northern Ireland. A kind of Punk/Goth/Metal hybrid that started out around 2005 from the remains of a metal covers band PHOBIA and the Punk band 7 ZARK 7. The band was originally just intended as a recording project for the core duo of John Moffatt and Paddy McTeggart and whoever they could get in to help out for recording purposes, including Paddy’s nephew Paul Leonard who co-wrote a number of the tracks. A couple of gigs were also played with former 7 ZARK 7 members filling out the line-up and playing a mix of original tracks and some classic punk rock covers. And that was pretty much it for THE MYSTERIOUS DEADBEATS.

Bio from THE MYSTERIOUS DEADBEATS Myspace…
..The Mysterious Deadbeats hailed from Enniskillen, Co.Fermanagh in Northern Ireland. I guess you could have called our music DEATHROCK as there was a bit of Punk/Metal and Goth going on in what we did. Really though we didn’t like labels so we suggest you just listen and make up your own mind. We may not have known what it was but we knew what we liked!.. ..The Mysterious Deadbeats started out life around about 2005 after the demise of Heavy Metal covers band ‘Phobia’ and Punk band ‘7 Zark 7’. The Deadbeats were initially intended just to be a recording project which revolved around the nucleus of Paddy McTeggart, John Moffatt and basically just whoever could be roped into helping for recording purposes at the time. This included Bob Kerrigan, The Late Anna Kerrigan, Will Bradley and Paddy’s nephew Paul Leonard who also co wrote some of the songs to name but a few!.. ..Eventually the time felt right to do some gigs, so Paddy and John enlisted their old mates from ‘7 Zark 7’ Alan Connolly, Will Bradley and Bob Kerrigan along with a NEW member keyboard player Noelle McCarney.. ..If you were ever un~lucky enough to catch the band Live at one of their sparse gigs (both of them) you can probably remember much bad taste, silliness, posing and posturing as well as a mix of Classic Punk Rock Covers and our own material, all done in our own inimitable style!!.. Then the Deadbeats just died but left behind a rather beautiful corpse which the macabre amongst us can enjoy viewing here….. I wonder what most of them are doing now… Well I believe some of them are in a new band called The Joy of Six and apparently there is still much bad taste, silliness, posing and posturing as well as a mix of Classic Punk Rock Covers and their own material, all done in their own inimitable style!!.. Which just proves that even that which is dead may not eternal lie!!!
