After spending many years gigging as a covers band, TWISTER made the jump to being an original rock band. They released the “Kickin’ Up A Storm” EP under this name in 2011, but numerous line-up issues and recording delays meant that the two founding members, Kieran ‘Twerp’ McArdle (Guitar & Vocals) & Tony Drumm (Bass), had to re-group under the new name BIG GUNS.

After recruiting Lisa Howe on drums and Daniel O’Toole on guitars, this new band released their debut “Down But Not Out” in 2013. The band hit a major stumbling bloke soon after in June 2013, when frontman ‘Twerp’ was involved in a serious work related accident in which he suffered multiple injuries that left him needing lots of time and medical attention to recover from. Thankfully! He is now back in action and in late 2014 the band returned to the studio to begin recording tracks for their follow-up album, with new guitarist Graham McKinstry having replaced Daniel O’Toole.

BIG GUNS are a new Classic Rock band born from the ashes of the highly regarded TWISTER. Renowned for their powerful live rock performances and having played extensively across Ireland on the pub, bike rally & festival circuit, BIG GUNS are set to inject a new leash of life into Classic Hard Rock.

Founded by Kieran ‘Twerp’ McArdle (Guitar & Vocals) & Tony Drumm (Bass), the band later introduced former DARKEST ERA drummer, Lisa Howe and current DARKEST ERA bassist, Daniel O’Toole on guitars to complete a powerhouse line-up with a wealth of playing experience and a sound that proves it.
