THERAPY? – 30th Anniversary Tour & Greatest Hits Release… Posted: 01/02/2020 by John O'Brien
Northern Ireland’s favourite sons of Rock, the one and only THERAPY? have officially entered their 30th year of existence. A milestone that not too many bands have the honour or privilege of reaching. But these longtime stalwarts of the live stage have stayed their course and are kicking off their 30th anniversary in style, with the annoncment of the release of their “Greatest Hits (The Abbey Road Session)” album coming on March 6th again via Marshall Records.
As the title suggests it’s a greatest hits collection with a twist, the twist being that THERAPY? have re-recorded and souped up 2020 versions of their UK hit songs in the legendary Abbey Road Studios… with non other than Chris Sheldon (Troublegum/Semi-Detached/Cleave) once again handling the production and mixing duties.
Also appearing on the album will be the bands good friend James Dean Bradfield from the MANIC STREET PREACHERS as special guest on “Die Laughing”. The CD version comes with a 2nd disc which has 15 (one song from each studio album) never before heard/released live songs compiled by Michael from the bands personal archive 1990-2020.
The package also features sleeve notes for each song written by Michael & Andy and some striking sleeve art from long term visual collaborator Nigel Rolfe. Within the pre-orders THERAPY? will be putting three very special “Golden Laminates” (one in each of the vinyl, coloured vinyl & cd) which will entitle whoever gets it (plus one guest) a whole year (March 2020-March 2021) of FREE entry to any THERAPY? show they fancy. These 3 very special passes are unique only to the pre-order albums so get in it to win one!
THERAPY? will also be going on tour to commemorate their milestone.
