Christs Of Violence Heavy Metal / Co. Dublin

CHRISTS OF VIOLENCE first formed in early 1993 and released their one and only ‘Prelude’ demo in late 1994. They played various gigs in venues such as the Rock Garden and the Ormonde Multimedia Centre with other Irish bands likes of CURSED EARTH, GRAVEYARD DIRT and THE STEAM PIG.

There’s heavy Thrash style to the music. And the vocals are similar to TESTAMENTS’s Chuck Billy for the most part. According the the bands drummer Murph, “We were ‘attempting’ to do something different and stay away from the overkill of Death Metal bands around at the time.” Murph eventually left left the band around mid-1995 and the band changed their name to HYPERNAUT with Paul Brennan of SYNAPSE filling the drums-tool. This line-up never played live and split shortly after.

Murph went on to become a touring Sound Engineer working with high profile metal acts like KREATOR, CROWBAR, ROTTING CHRIST, VADER, MARDUK, DEICIDE and DISCHARGE among others.
